SAN FRANCISCOEmbedded I/O and CPU provider Tews Technologies LLC this week rolled out a high-density 16-bit D/A PMC module with FIFOs for its expanding line of PMC modules.
The TPMC554 standard single-wide 32-bit PMC module provides 32 or 16 channels of 16-bit analog outputs and is suited for applications in industrial, transportation, and COTS aerospace/defense, according to the company.
In addition to the double buffered distributed RAM inside the FPGA, the TPMC554 provides 2 M x 16-bit external SRAM to store values that are known in advance, according to Tews (Reno, Nev.). this feature can also be used to periodically output any kind of waveform or bit pattern, the company said. The size of the FIFO for each DAC channel is adjustable, the company said.
The software selectable output voltage ranges are 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-10.8V, 5V, 10V or 10.8V and can be individually set per channel, according to Tews. Physical connectivity is achieved through a HD68 SCSI 3 type front I/O connector, the company said.
Each TPMC554 is factory calibrated, Tews said. The calibration information is stored in an on board serial EEPROM unique to each PMC module.
Tews said it offers driver software for its modules for operating systems including VxWorks, Windows, Linux, LynxOS, Integrity and QNX6.
